My First Tornado!

This tornado is the first tornado I got to witness in person. This picture was taken by my Mom in May of 1984! The view is looking to the north and the town it hit was Plainfield IL.

I was 8 years old at the time of this picture. It was quite a memorable experience. I remember seeing the tornado and freaking out, but at the same time was intrigued. I couldn't figure out what to do. I would run to the hallway for safety but then run back to the window to watch it! I ran back and forth during the whole event, it was pretty amusing.

I must say, this is the one event that really got me into loving everything about the weather!
